Kanopy: Enjoy Thoughtful Entertainment

We are excited to offer a new resource to Lyons Community Library cardholders. Kanopy is an online streaming platform featuring thousands of movies, documentaries and TV shows. Lyons Community Library patrons will receive 10 virtual tickets per month that provide free and immediate access to hours of education and entertainment.

Additionally, patrons will have free and unlimited access to Kanopy Kids, a branch of Kanopy packed full of movies, shows and animated storybooks geared towards kids aged 2-8.

How To Use Kanopy

Step 1: Visit https://lyonsregional.kanopy.com on your computer, tablet or phone and select ‘Add a Library Card’.

Step 2: Enter your full library card number (212550000xxxxx- replace xxxxx with your card numbers) and your last name in lowercase letters for the PIN. screenshot of library card and password entry boxes

Step 3: Create your account. This account requires an email address and unique password.

Step 4: Select ‘Start Watching Now’ to browse Kanopy’s library.

Step 5: Select a movie or show to see how many tickets it ‘costs’ as well as how long you will have access to it.

To switch to Kanopy Kids, simply select the Kids logo in the upper right hand corner of the platform. Kanopy Kids has hundreds of hours of content including movies, shows and read along storybooks. Parents have the option of setting limits and restrictions through Parental Controls.
