Welcome to the Lyons Community Library
What's happening at the library?
April is National Poetry Month
A Poetry Slam/Jam is an open mic celebration of poetry—bringing words to life by giving them oxygen and the encouragement of community support.
We’ll kick off at 6:00 PM with a short writing exercise, where you can craft a poem on the spot. Or, bring a piece you’ve been working on! Each participant will have three minutes to read.
Sign up online or at the event. Bring a poem or create one on the spot! Free refreshments provided by Lyons Community Theater + random prize raffles!
“Trust me when I say that poetry heals, guides, feeds, & enlivens.” —Evie Shockley
